Telescopes

1. Vixen VC200L, a 200mm (8 inch) reflector on a GPDX mount and an Orion Field Tripod. It is controlled using Skysensor 2000.

A homemade Baader solar filter is shown in this picture.

This was my first telescope which is used for visual and astrophotography. A camera can be mounted on the top for wide field photos.

 

 


2.  Orion Optics 300mm Newtonian telescope seen here at the Thetford Sky camp.



This scope is used on the same mount as above with the SS2k. It used for observing deep sky objects from a dark site. It can also be Dobsonian mounted as the GPDX doesn't quite cope with the weight. A Dob is also much quicker to set up.
3.  Meade ETX 125EC

This scope is the one I use when viewing from home. It is quick and easy to use and the views are good.

It is also used as a travel scope.

  









4.  Swarovski 80 mm HD for birdwatching. 





5.  Coronado PST (Personal Solar Telescope) 40mm

A budget Hydrogen alpha telescope but with amazing views. 



Photography

I have used a number of different cameras (Coolpix 880, Coolpix 4500, Canon 350D) but currently use a Canon 20Da and 40D with various lenses.
