LDN1610 A Dark Nebula in Monoceros

When I recently imaged the Christmas Tree and Cone Nebulae I noticed an interesting dark feature at the top left of that image and thought it warranted further investigation. This image is the result. The dark shape (like a mirror image 7) looks like holes in the nebulosity. In fact it is dust obscuring the nebula. There is a whole catalogue of such dark nebulae known as Lynds Dark Nebula Cataloue. This one contains 108,109 and 110.

It was taken on the night of  15 January 2016 and consists of 21 x 600s through my Megrez 90 scope with 0.8x FR and a 3nm Ha filter.
