This Spooky looking Nebula is near the star Gamma Cassiopeia which can be seen in context in the lower picture with Gamma Cass being the obvious bright star lower right. Even though the distance between the nebula and star is 19 light years the radiation from the star is responsible for the radiation emitted by the nebula and will in time blow it away. The distance from us is around 600 light years.

This image was taken on the night of 18 July 2014 through  a William Optics Megrez 90 telescope and a Ha filter and with an Atik 460 EX CCD camera. The image consists of 21 x 600s sub exposures which are stacked in MaximDL and processed in Photoshop CS2.

The top image is a crop from the lower image and artificially coloured red using Photoshop.
